I am writing to you as a loyal supporter of MSP or Old Boy of the College to seek your backing for the Club’s latest venture.
Over the last four years the Club has planned, and is now committed to, the refurbishment of the gymnasium at Evans Bay. Built in 1976 with an asbestos roof, the gym no longer provides the facilities required in the current rugby environment.
Through continuous fundraising and savings, Shamrock Club contributions, and a major contribution from the St Patrick’s College Trust Board, MSP is in a financial position to complete this project. Detailed planning and evaluation by experienced club members and advisers, and the Trust Board, has determined that the gym redevelopment project is viable and worthwhile to both the Club and College. However, there remains a shortfall of $50,000 and the Gym Redevelopment Foundation project described in the enclosed brochure seeks to raise funds to meet the shortfall.
Your membership of the Gym Redevelopment Foundation can support the project at a number of levels: Platinum membership - $1000; Gold membership - $500; Silver membership - $250; and Bronze membership - $100. These memberships will be acknowledged on an Honours Board to be placed inside the new gymnasium. This development will provide the Club and College with a modern sports education facility and enable the Red Machine to carry on its proud record of success.
This is your opportunity to support the next generation of MSP and St Patricks College rugby players.
We are enormously excited and proud about this venture and I am sure you will be too. Building has already commenced and we expect the project to be completed for the commencement of the 2003 school year.
I look forward to your support and will be extending an invitation to you to attend the official opening.
Yours sincerely
