Here is a profile of the Speaker for the night, Stephen Hewson:

Stephen Hewson attended St Patricks College, Silverstream from 1980 to
1984 and went on to do a BA with a double major in Politics and History  at Victoria University .. he then decided the field of politics was far too dirty and under-handed for him, so changed his course to Journalism.

His first reporting job was at the Hutt News .. from there he joined Radio New Zealand and he has gone on to become one of the country's foremost sports broadcasters, having won close to a dozen awards including Sports Broadcaster of the year and four Qantas Media Awards.

He has covered three Olympic games and two Commonwealth games as well as the Black Caps cricket tour of England in 1994, the Rugby World Cup in 2003 and has just returned from Beijing as Radio New Zealand's sports reporter.

But he also walks the talk when it comes to sport - playing cricket in England and here at home for the  Upper Hutt seniors.

He's is a qualified cricket coach having coached in Switzerland, the Netherlands, Germany and Italy.

He's also a member of the Spackos football side, a team which has had little success and shows even less talent, and has graced the lower echelons of Capital football for the past 20 years.

Please organise a group of your friends and then contact me and let me know how many tickets you would like. It will be a great night.

Look forward to seeing you all there
